Design and describe my very own secret lair.
My not-so-secret lair would be made of stone, and carpeted wall to wall with mismatched rugs. Most of the wall space would be covered with overstuffed bookshelves except for the large, open windows which allowed you to notice that we sit just over the tree tops in a wide green valley. You would see a winding sapphire river drifting away and snowcapped mountains in the distance. This main room contains handcrafted wood tables and several comfy couches with dozens of pillows. The lamps that would light the place when the sun went down would be pieces of art. Music would constantly be playing. A dog and cat would be dozing in chairs while birds and butterflies visited me at the open windows. Down the spiral staircase are the bedroom and bathroom suites for myself and all my friends, and a magnificent kitchen staffed by people who cook significantly better than I do. A sandy river beach, hot tub, nightly bonfires with s’mores, and wifi are all included.

Aug 16-24 Visual Weekly Writing Prompt
Tell this story: Image (Girl in a closed jar with lights, three armored knights, leafless tree)
The last of the leaves had fallen as the trees slipped into their winter dreams. Three Kingsmen raced against the approaching season of snow and ice that would make travel treacherous. They had been sent to find the Princess but the great Warlock, Terrence, had spies everywhere hindering their progress and time was running short.
He had stolen the child from her warm bed and demanded a ransom for her return. He craved more and more magic and he knew the King had something he wanted. He knew the King had the most powerful object of all. What he didn’t know, however, was that the Princess was more than just that.
Terrence had used his power to shrink her already small body into a tiny thing he could hold in one hand. Thinking no one would look for her there, he kept her in a jar upon a shelf. Just as that last leaf had fallen, and the Kingsmen had reached the island where Terrence had built his castle, the young girl felt a great rush of power. She stood up in wonder and wiped her tears away as light bloomed around her in the darkness and she began to grow. She became bigger and bigger until the lid on the jar popped open. The shelf was overcome with her new weightiness and it collapsed. Luckily, she was big enough to land on her feet, although a little unsteadily at first. Finally, her size was back to normal and she looked around. She had made a wish to be big again and here she was, as tall as ever.
She decided to chance another wish. She wished the Warlock would never be able to hurt her again. By this time, Terrence had stormed into the room to discover the source of all crashing sound. He took in the scene of the broken jar and shelf and, most importantly, the little girl that was no longer tiny. With a wave of his hand, he meant to mend the jar, rehang the shelf, and shrink the girl back into her prison but nothing happened. That one little wish by the little girl had destroyed his powers. He didn’t know this in that moment but he advanced upon her in anger. True to her wish, he couldn’t get near her. This only frustrated him further.
She giggled and tried one last wish, for wishes always comes in threes. She wished to go home and just like that, the three Kingsmen entered the room.
